Sometimes last month, I was invited to a wedding party, I arrived at the reception on time despite the fact that there was enough traffic that could made me miss the reception but I guess they started late because there was an heavy rainfall, I got to the reception with no make-up on.

As I was about entering the hall, a woman walked up to me and said “Aunty, make-up is here” I gave her a doubtful look and told her I’m not interested. while trying to wave her off, another one showed up and said ” Aunty, won’t you tie your gele and also do make-up? At this point, I was confused on what to do.

So finally, I gave in to the first woman, we went to a closed shop opposite the hall and she started the make-up, she applied a whole lot of stuffs on my face, yeah! Stuffs because they were packed together in just one bag and she will just have to scatter the bag just to pick something.

It got to a point, I started complaining that the powder on my face is too much and that I’m not the bride, the make-up is becoming too flashy, she kept saying “don’t worry, everything will blend together”.

After the whole thing, I paid, checked the mirror hastily and left for the hall. After sometime, I met with some of my friends and we took pictures together, all these while I never knew the make-up has gradually been washing away.

I noticed people’s look anytime i pass beside them and I didn’t really consider it. Some minutes later, I entered the rest room to receive a call, while on the call, I turned towards the mirror side and I was really scared of myself, the first thing I said was “No wonder”.

I quickly went into the hall, picked the face towel that was given to me as a souvenir and went back into the rest room, soaked the towel with water and cleaned everything off.
I got back into the hall with my real face and I guessed people noticed but I didn’t really care, I eventually left the reception and I actually hoped I could see the woman but I could not find her.
Not that she didn’t do the make up well, she did but her products are fake!!!
I actually wanted a simple make-up which I can actually do my self but I can’t because I was in a haste to the party.
